At Atlantic Northeast, we have a fairly simple career progression
structure. As you fly more hours, you go up through the ranks. As you
go up through the ranks, you become eligable for promotions as they become
available. Your rank doesn't have a bearing on what aircraft you can fly,
but it does have a bearing on what weather you are permitted to fly in.
We decided to do it this way because in the real world, your experience
doesn't have any effect on the aircraft you fly but it does affect the
category of approach you can fly. To learn more about the categories of
approach, as dictated by ICAO, please click
here. Pilots joining us from other VAs who have more than 50 hours
will be recruited as First Officers and 50 hours will be credited to your
account. Pilots with less than 50 hours of experience will be recruited
as cadets, and any verfiable hours will be added to your account.
Management vacencies come up quite regularly.
Each time we open a hub we look for a manager, so it's well worth building
up the hours. Vacencies will be annouced on our home page, and all applications
are considered. The number of flight hours you accumulate is used to determine
your rank:
 |
Cadet |
0 to 25 Hours |
Cat II |
 |
First Officer |
25 to 100 Hours |
Cat IIIa |
 |
Captain |
100 to 250 Hours |
Cat IIIb |
 |
Senior Captain |
More than 250 Hours |
Cat IIIc |
At ANE, you will also receive virtual pay for your flights.
This is currently $0.85 per mile flown, and like any real world airline
we constantly review our pay. So if you fly from London to Paris and back,
at 220 miles each way, you will make V$ 347. This goes into your virtual
account, and is used as an indicator of your development with us. It obviously
cannot be redeemed!
Finally, the epaulet corresponding to your rank can be
used as your avatar on the forum, to help identify you. |
